We have a select network of the top service providers in each area of the country. No more getting average fire protection work across the country. Get the best in each area!
APS FireCo can provide your organization with a clear understanding of the fire hazards that are present in your organization. We analyze your entire operation, or just a portion of it, then provide a report that highlights the existing hazards and a plan for mitigating those hazards.
A hazard analysis is used as the first step in a process used to assess risk. The result of a hazard analysis is the identification of risks. Preliminary risk levels can be provided in the hazard analysis. The validation, more precise prediction and acceptance of risk is determined in the risk assessment. The main goal of both is to provide the best selection of means of controlling or eliminating the risk.

Explosion accidents kill hundreds of people and cause billions of dollars in damages each year around the world, but they can be controlled with an explosion suppression system, reducing the likelihood of serious injuries or death, as well as the damage to facilities and equipment.
APS FireCo can help you mitigate the risk of explosions in a wide variety of environments. Our team has a deep knowledge of the processes, current code compliance, and technical specifications necessary to protect your facility, equipment, and personnel.
Explosion detection
Explosion detection devices recognize critical warning signs and make the decision on when to activate explosion isolation and/or explosion suppression systems, which can help to prevent an explosion from damaging your equipment and facility, and injuring or killing personnel.
Explosion suppression
Explosion suppression systems are expertly designed to immediately identify, and then chemically suppress an explosion before it can cause a disaster, helping to reduce damage, injuries, and deaths.
Explosion isolation
Explosion isolation systems work to stop the spread of flame from one location to another through the use of fast‐acting explosion isolation valves and/or chemical barriers. These type of systems are particularly well suited to work in support of explosion venting systems.
Chemical isolation
This method instantly discharges an explosion suppressant agent into the duct work to suppress the flame, preventing it from expanding and reaching other, areas, equipment, or personnel.
Mechanical isolation
This method achieves the same goal by initiating the release of a high speed knife valve, which forms a protective mechanical barrier within the pipeline.
Explosion venting
Explosion venting systems provide over‐pressure protection from dangerous industrial explosion hazards by creating a planned pathway for the expanding gases from an explosion to safely escape. These systems are economical to install, and offer fast, reliable operation in an explosion situation. They are typically used in conjunction with explosion isolation and suppression systems.
APS FireCo provides the full range of fire alarm detection systems and accessories including all required hardware and system programming to provide a complete and operational system, capable of providing the protected premises with the specified functions and operations.
The fire detection and fire alarm system may be a simple conventional or multi-processor based network system designed specifically for fire or audio evacuation applications. Advanced technologies such as video fire detection from Fike SignaFire and linear heat detection from Protectowire are available for more complex applications. Design and installation shall incorporate UL listed equipment and meet NFPA, OSHA and local codes and standards.

Used properly, a portable fire extinguisher can save lives and property by putting out a small fire or controlling it until the fire department arrives.
APS FireCo can provide you with both hand portable and wheeled fire extinguisher units to meet any application you may have. You should, however, choose your fire extinguisher carefully. A fire extinguisher should bear the seal of an independent testing laboratory. It should also be labeled as to the type of fire it is intended to extinguish. Additionally, the fire extinguishers must be large enough to put out the fire. Most portable fire extinguishers discharge completely in as few as eight seconds.
There are five basic classes of fires. All fire extinguishers are labeled with the classes of fires they can put out. Below are the five classes and the types of fires they control.
CLASS | TYPES OF FIRES |
---|---|
A | ORDINARY COMBUSTIBLES Wood, paper, cloth, rubber, many plastics, etc. |
B | FLAMMABLE LIQUIDS & GASES Gasoline, oils, paint thinner, dry cleaning agents, propane, natural gas, tar, etc. |
C | FIRES INVOLVING LIVE ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT |
D | COMBUSTIBLE METALS Metal fires involving magnesium, sodium, potassium and sodium-potassium alloys, lithium and lithium alloy |
K | KITCHEN FIRES Fires in cooking appliances that involve combustible cooking media such as vegetable or animal oils and fat |
APS FireCo can handle all of your fire sprinkler needs, including:
Industrial and Commercial Fire Sprinkler Systems
Fire sprinkler systems designed according to city, state and national codes for use in commercial facilities. Cost is determined by size and use of facility.
Type of fire sprinkler systems include: wet pipe, dry pipe, pre-action, deluge, foam, water mist, and water spray. We use products from major suppliers such as Chemguard for foam and Marrioff for water mist.
Underground Fire Lines
The piping that connects the fire sprinkler system to its water supply. Cost is determined by length of line, pipe sizing and meter size.
Design
A fire sprinkler system must be designed and fabricated prior to installation. We design using AutoCAD based computer software. If a CAD drawing of the reflected ceiling plan is available, we prefer to work from it rather than recreating the entire drawing. Design is most usually included in the cost of the system.
Inspections
According to the national codes, fire sprinkler systems shall be visually inspected on an annual basis. Fire sprinkler Inspections do not require water to flow through the heads. An inspector takes this opportunity to locate any obstructions such as items stored too close to a riser, or stacked too close to a fire sprinkler head. Other items of which he / she will be aware are newly constructed areas. If a fire sprinkler professional is not consulted during a remodel project, coverage can be jeopardized.
Back Flow Devices
APS Fire has ABPA certified employees qualified to inspect, test and repair back flow devices. Some insurance companies and city governments require annual inspections and testing.
Service
Remodeling? If so, please feel free to call on us to be sure that fire sprinkler coverage is not put at risk. Moving walls, lowering ceilings and adding lighting can potentially obstruct fire sprinklers.
Emergencies
In the event that an accident occurs, we are ready. Most fire sprinkler systems go decades without problems. But occasionally, an old system will develop a leak or a forklift driver will hit a head and knock it loose. In these cases, we are ready to solve the problem. We make every attempt to answer your call with a live person (not an answering service). Occasionally when all of the lines are tied up, it will go to voice mail. The message gives you several alternative numbers to reach us. We pride ourselves on being available, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year.

APS FireCo is a leader in implementing wet chemical fire suppression systems for kitchens.
We often use the Ansul R-102 Restaurant Fire Suppression System, which is an automatic, pre- engineered, fire suppression system designed to protect the following areas associated with cooking equipment; ventilating equipment including kitchen hoods, ducts, plenums, and filters; fryers; griddles and range tops; upright, natural charcoal, or chain-type broilers; electric, lava rock, mesquite or gas-radiant char-broilers and woks. The system is UL Listed under UL standard 300.
This restaurant fire suppression system is a pre-engineered, wet chemical, cartridge- operated, regulated pressure type with a fixed nozzle agent distribution network. It is listed with Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. (UL).
The system is capable of automatic detection and actuation and/or remote manual actuation. Additional equipment is available for mechanical or electrical gas line shut-off applications. The detection portion of the fire suppression system allows for automatic detection by means of specific alloy rated fusible links, which, when the temperature exceeds the rating of the link, the link separates, allowing the regulated release to actuate.
The Ansul PIRANHA™ Restaurant Fire Suppression System is also an automatic, pre-engineered, fixed, fire suppression system designed to protect the same type of cooking equipment listed above with the R-102 System.
The system is a dual-agent, pre-engineered, fixed, automatic fire extinguishing system developed specifically for improved fire protection of commercial restaurant cooking appliances, exhaust hoods and ducts.
When actuated, the system discharges a fixed amount of proprietary wet chemical agent followed by water through the same nozzles. Water is provided by a connection to the potable water supply. Advantages of the dual system over single wet agent systems include: (1) more robust suppression of hostile fires in protected restaurant hazards; (2) greater hazard area protection with less wet agent; (3) faster flame extinguishment and securing of hot fuels such as cooking shortening; (4) overlapping protection of cooking appliances from fixed nozzle spacing, allowing appliances to be interchanged freely without changing nozzles; (5) more rapid cooling of hot fuels and appliances to prevent re-ignition; (6) simplicity of design and installation.
The addition of the water discharge significantly aids in increasing and prolonging the foam blanket generated by the wet chemical agent. The longer retention of the foam blanket allows the hot grease to cool well below the auto-ignition temperature. The water spray portion of the system is provided by a connection to the potable water supply.
